July Female - Missy Holder

Name: Missy Holder

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Fairfield, Ohio.

When did you become a member of the Cornerstone community? About 9 months ago

What do you do when you are not at Cornerstone? (occupation, hobbies, etc.)  I enjoy running, reading, doing anything outdoors and hanging out with my family.

What is your favorite workout movement? I love the back squat, gymnastics movements (they make me feel like a kid again!) and tend to like longer metcons.

What is your least favorite movement your trainer makes you do?  I do not like the rower!  Once I made myself row for 15 minutes just to prove that it wouldn’t kill me!

What is your favorite accomplishment since becoming a part of Cornerstone?  This isn’t necessarily an accomplishment, but I love that 2 of my 3 kids are also Cornerstone members.  Joshua is in the teens program and Olivia just joined last month. I love working out with my kids!

What is something about yourself that we might not know?  The most “interesting” Cornerstone-related fun fact about me is that I was Laura Franchini’s 3rd grade teacher!  This was my first job out of college and the only year I taught! I subsequently went back to school to get my MBA and have worked in accounting ever since.

What advice would you give to someone just getting started in personal training at Cornerstone? Set goals for yourself (no matter how lofty they may seem) and do small things everyday to make progress toward those goals.  Talk to your coach for guidance (Cornerstone coaches are the best!). Enjoy the process and celebrate your achievements!

What goals do you have for the rest of 2019?. I want to get butterfly pull-ups and a bar muscle up (yep, just one!).

Fill in the Blank

I’m #allin Cornerstone because…. I turned 50 in May (ugh!) and I love the fact that I continue to set and achieve new goals for myself.  Most of my non-CF peers have surrendered to the “idea” that they are physically on the decline and I refuse to buy into that notion! I know that I can still get stronger, hit PRs, and attain new skills!  I am #ALLIN because I am not done yet!
