May Male - Todd Bretz

Name: Todd Bretz

Where did you grow up? Moved to Cincinnati when I was 16 from California and been here ever since.

When did you become a member of the Cornerstone community? August 2017

What do you do when you are not at Cornerstone? (occupation, hobbies, etc.)  I work at Crossroads Church. My main hobby is Adventure Motorcycle riding wherever I can find mountains and RV camping with my family. Mostly I try to keep my 4 children thriving and my wife happy!

What is your favorite workout movement? Deadlift

What is your least favorite movement your trainer makes you do?  Overhead Squat

What is your favorite accomplishment since becoming a part of Cornerstone? Overall my favorite accomplishment is making fitness a focus of my life as opposed to an afterthought. And being able to do successive rope climbs. Before CF I couldn’t even do 1.

What is something about yourself that we might not know? I attended the same high school as Bill and Ted…..’San Dimas High School Football Rules!’  (you probably have to be 40 to get this)

What advice would you give to someone just getting started in personal training at Cornerstone? Just show up. My favorite quote is ‘80% of success in life is just showing up’. It’s so true. At Cornerstone all you have to do is show up. With the programming already done for you and the encouragement of the coaches…..once you actually show up to the building, the rest is easy.

What goals do you have for the rest of 2019?. Executing a bar muscle up. And squat clean 200#. I’m also working on refining the nutrition of our family. We are about 85% there but we can definitely improve our family nutrition.

Fill in the Blank

I’m #allin Cornerstone because….I want to meet my great grandchildren. Hopefully by making fitness/nutrition a part of our focus everyday I can thrive physically and set a fitness focused foundation for my kiddos. I’m also #allin because the culture created at Cornerstone is tons of fun, challenging, encouraging and strategic. I’ve never had a gym that keeps me wanting to come back for more!
