June Female - Rae Christy Nichols
Name: Rae Christy Nichols
Where did you grow up? Fairfield, OH
When did you become a member of the Cornerstone community? September 2017
What do you do when you are not at Cornerstone? (occupation, hobbies, etc.) I work for Red Bull full time and in the winter I work and ski at Perfect North. I’m also heavily involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Southwest Ohio and was just named a ski coach for Riding on Insulin (ROI) for the coming winter season. ROI holds ski/snowboard camps and mountain bike camps for kids with type 1 diabetes and their families. It’s extremely important to me to show not just kids, but their families that you can be a successful active adult with this disease- just like me!
What is your favorite workout movement? Heavy squats
What is your least favorite movement your trainer makes you do? Wallballs
What is your favorite accomplishment since becoming a part of Cornerstone? I never thought I’d do a handstand in my life and now I can get a few back-to back handstand push ups!
What is something about yourself that we might not know? I trained in ballet for about 17 years. I miss being flexible!
What advice would you give to someone just getting started in training at Cornerstone? Ask questions and ask for help to conquer your fears. I never would have gotten a handstand if I hadn’t asked coach Lyndsey to help me go for it.
What goals do you have for the rest of 2018?. I want to hit every WOD RX! I also want to get my butt out of bed on Saturdays to make it to the new Comp class.
