Name- Elizabeth Mohr
Where did you grow up? Mason, Ohio
When did you become a member of the Cornerstone community? 2012
What do you do when you are not at Cornerstone? (occupation, hobbies, etc.)
I am a speech language pathologist (full time in a school and work summer and some weekends at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton). I am a Girl Scout leader for my daughter’s troop. We love to travel to Disney World and Disneyland. If I’m not there I am dreaming about and planning for the next trip.
What is your favorite WOD/movement?
It’s always changing. That’s one of the reasons I like Crossfit…the variety keeps me from getting bored!
What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Probably handstands…I am still uncomfortable being upside down. Thrusters are pretty awful too.
What would your perfect WOD look like?
I like partner workouts and workouts with variety (a few reps of a lot of different movements)
What is your favorite accomplishment/PR since becoming a part of Cornerstone?
Doing pull-ups in the Open ☺
What is something about yourself that we might not know?
I played in a handbell choir in high school and college. We even went on a tour!
What advice would you give to someone just getting starting at Cornerstone?
*Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Even if you feel like you are at the bottom of the leaderboard every single time, keep track of your scores. Progress might feel slow but it’s amazing to look back at how far you’ve come.
*Nutrition matters. It took me way too long to believe this and I have noticed a huge difference in my workouts since cleaning up my nutrition.
*Set realistic, achievable goals and work on one or two things at a time. It’s overwhelming to feel like you need to get better at everything.
What goals do you have for the rest of 2017?
Overall, to be much healthier at 35 than I was at 30 and get better at doing things that scare me! Specifically, I am working on pull-ups, toes to bar, and hand stands lately. I would love to be able to do at least most of the workouts RX in the 2018 Open.
