What is your fitness background? I played baseball, basketball and hockey growing up.  After college I stopped playing any sports for most of my 20's, until a friend got me back into hockey at 29 and continued until my mid 30's.  It wasn't until about 4 years ago that I started working out again.

Sport or activity you are training for, if any: Longevity of life.  I started my fitness journey to regain my health after an emergency room visit over 4 years ago that rocked my entire life and changed my perspective.  Today I continue to do Crossfit because I love the classes and people I have met along the way.  I am continually inspired by the amazing athletes I am surrounded by.

How long have you been CrossFitting? How did you end up at Cornerstone? I have been doing Crossfit for 3 years.  I found crossfit through Mark Sisson on his website marksdailyapple.com.  I had been working out on my own for about a year and was getting bored with the workouts and my results had slowed down.  There were several people on his website talking about the results they were seeing with Crossfilt.  The first box I went to was in Centerville with some co-workers.  I completed their foundations classes but didn't love it.  I then found Cornerstone and have been there almost every morning since.  Great coaches who really care and are why I am still here, and continue to improve.  Continuing to get better and stronger at 47 is not something I thought was possible prior to Crossfit.

How have you seen yourself change (mentally, physically, etc) since being a part of CFC? When an especially long workout comes up I am mentally much stronger, always putting a strategy together, breaking it up in smaller pieces that don't seem as daunting.  I find myself using this same strategy in my work as well.  Physically, I am much stronger than I have ever been in almost every aspect of my training, beyond any expectations I had before coming to CFC.

What is your least favorite CrossFit move? What is your most favorite CrossFit move? Least favorite are burpees, with running being a close second, and my favorites are anything with a barbell.

Is there any particular WOD that you can remember is your favorite? DT, The Chief.  I remember feeling like there was no way I was going to be able to finish these two workouts right before starting, and then completing them both.

What are some of your goals that you have for yourself in the next year? 400lb squat, muscle ups (bar and ring)

What is something that others may not know about me? I have struggled most of my adult life with my weight.  Prior to 2012 I found myself weighing in at 250 pounds and very inactive.  That is why you will find me at the gym every morning, no matter the workout.  I have a real fear of falling out of the habit so I come every day without thought of whether or not to go.
